I am an opera singer specializing in roles that require a lyric-dramatic soprano. My voice is ideal for verismo and romantic operas, particularly works by composers such as Giacomo Puccini, Giuseppe Verdi, Antonín Dvořák, and Leoš Janáček.
Education and Early Career
I was born on December 3, 1988, in Prague into a family of Czech art and antiques dealer. From an early childhood, I attended the Kühn Children's Choir under the direction of Jiří Chvála, who encouraged me to further develop my voice and pursue a solo career. Toward the end of elementary school, I took private singing lessons with Professor Jarmila Vrchotová-Pátová, who later recommended that I continue my studies at the Prague Conservatory. After being accepted, I was selected to study in the class of Professor Brigita Šulcová. During my studies, I made my stage debut at the Prague State Opera in the role of Lucia in Gaetano Donizetti’s *Lucia di Lammermoor*. I successfully completed my conservatory studies in 2011.
Professional Career
Shortly after graduating, I received an offer to join a Europe-wide tour of Mozart’s The Magic Flute in a production by the Kazan State Opera. I then appeared as Donna Clarissa in Carl Maria von Weber’s opera Die Drei Pintos at the Prague State Opera and as Annchen in another of Weber’s operas, Der Freischütz, at the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec.
Gradually, I expanded my repertoire to include roles such as Violetta Valéry in Verdi’s La Traviata, Nedda in Ruggero Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, and Hanna Glawari in Franz Lehár’s operetta The Merry Widow. One of my signature roles later became Antonín Dvořák’s Rusalka, in which I made my debut at the North Bohemian Theatre in Ústí nad Labem and also performed at the Josef Kajetán Tyl Theatre in Plzeň.
Further Engagements and Collaborations
Throughout my career, I have performed at a wide range of concerts and various social events. I have appeared on major stages, in concert halls, open-air venues, and in more intimate settings such as gallery openings and churches. In December 2018, I had the honor of performing alongside Mexican tenor Ramón Vargas at the Verdi Gala concert. Following this success, I was invited on an international tour with Giuseppe Verdi’s Il Trovatore and to perform at a concert with Anna Netrebko. Unfortunately, the global pandemic caused all ongoing projects to be postponed.
In 2021, I sang alongside Eva Urbanová and the National Theatre Orchestra conducted by David Švec at the Nepomuk Open Air Gala Concert celebrating the anniversary of the beatification of St. John Nepomuk, which was broadcast by Czech Television. The following year, the event was repeated, and this time, I performed in the role of Krasava from Smetana’s opera Libuše. During the same period, I also performed as a soloist in the concert series Evenings of Film Music by Ennio Morricone in Plzeň. Additionally, I participated in several international performances.
Current Engagements
Currently, I perform at the North Bohemian Theatre in Ústí nad Labem in operas such as La Traviata, Rusalka, Libuše, The Bartered Bride, and in the operetta The Merry Widow. In addition to my theatre work, I am also dedicated to concert performances, focusing on famous soprano arias such as Měsíčku na nebi, O mio babbino caro, Signore ascolta, Quando me’n vo', Vissi d'arte, Vissi d'amore (and others), as well as compositions like Mozart’s Requiem and Stabat Mater in versions by Antonín Dvořák, Gioacchino Rossini, and Giovanni Battista Pergolesi.
